FACE-TO-FACE COURSES
Face-to-face courses are scheduled for dates and locations listed in our course schedule further down the page.
This schedule may change to cater most effectively to participants’ needs.
* Note that face-to-face courses may become online courses (see below) if the number of registered participants has not reached a minimum level close to the course dates.
FULL COURSE
Duration: Two days, from 9am to approximately 4pm on each day OR selected one-day intensive courses from 9am to approximately 4:30pm
- Fee: $440.00 (excl. GST) per person (Student teacher rate: $330.00 (excl. GST))
ASSISTANTS’ COURSE
- Duration: 9am to 2pm on both days of a full course
- Fee: $300.00 (excl. GST) per person
RE-ACCREDITATION COURSE
- Duration: 9am to 2pm on the second day of a full course
- Fee: $160.00 (excl. GST) per person
* Note that participants in face-to-face courses are expected to bring a geared bike in good mechanical condition and an approved helmet (Australian Standard AS 2063) on each day of their course.
ONLINE COURSES
Courses delivered online via Zoom are scheduled for selected dates and locations listed in our course schedule further down the page. These courses are intended for those unable to attend one in person, and do not contain a practical component. Participants will however learn all the same content and achieve the same accreditation as in a face-to-face course.
FULL COURSE
Duration: Two days, from 9am to 1:30pm on each day OR selected one-day intensive courses from 9am to approximately 4:30pm — - Fee: $380.00 (excl. GST) per person (Student teacher rate: $290.00 (excl. GST))
ASSISTANTS’ COURSE
- Duration: 9am to 1pm on both days of a full course
- Fee: $300.00 (excl. GST) per person – same as for face-to-face courses
RE-ACCREDITATION COURSE
- Duration: 9am to 1:30pm on the second day of a full course
- Fee: $160.00 (excl. GST) per person – same as for face-to-face courses
Mountain Bike Instructor Training
Cycling Safe’s Mountain Bike (MTB) Instructor Training course is for those who currently hold a Bike Ed Instructor, or similar accreditation. (this is a prerequisite for participating) and wish to extend their knowledge and skills to teach others how to mountain-bike.
The course contains one day of theory-based learning and one day in a mountain biking environment, putting the theory into practice.

- Fee: $430.00 (excl. GST) per person (Student teacher rate: $330.00 (excl. GST)
Essential Bike Mechanics Workshop
This is a simple hands-on guide to basic bike maintenance, useful for maintaining an existing bike fleet, or when checking and maintaining bicycles brought in by students.
Participants will learn how important it is to conduct ongoing checks to prevent and fix potential issues that may arise during practical sessions or on riding excursions. This course will cover a full bike inspection. Learn to check frames, tyres, wheels, bearings, headset and bottom bracket.
Cleaning and chain care. Effective techniques for drive-train and chain maintenance. Learn how to optimise gear and brake performance, solve common gear issues, and replace cables.
Replace worn out brake pads and cables. Learn how to fix a puncture, repair or replace a tube, and discover ways to minimise or prevent a puncture.
Participants are welcome to bring their own bike or use one provided. Repair stands, tools, and spare parts will be provided.
- Duration: Three to four hours, depending on numbers.
